The Opportunity

Numbers Executive is supporting a large, established energy-infrastructure business based in Sydney's CBD that provides a critical service to its customers along the Eastern Seaboard.  Due to growth via continued investment and a significant pipeline of future investment opportunity, a Senior Manager is sought to join its Corporate Finance team.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the GM, Corporate Finance, leading a team of 1-2 Corporate Finance Associates (TBC) and with exposure to the leadership group, the Senior Manager will have a focus on supporting the evaluation and management of a significant pipeline of capital investment opportunities, including: 
  • Taking a hands-on role supporting the company's material business and investment cases, including the refinement and improvement of the investment evaluation process and striving for "trusted advisor" status amongst key project and business unit stakeholders whilst managing a variety of external advisors and consultants
  • Leading and coach corporate finance associates with corporate finance related activities
  • Managing the preparation of investment materials and investment papers, and provide investment advice to the Board, Executive and CFO, and recommendations to support decision making
  • Supporting ongoing relationships with investors, financiers and other key stakeholders
  • Supporting Treasury with its financing and funding objectives 
  • Taking ownership of special projects and drive positive business outcomes 
Position Requirements
  • experience managing detailed financial analysis and the evaluation of investment proposals within capital intensive (ideally energy) assets
  • experience with understanding and managing the needs of key decision makers, and identifying the levers that drive shareholder value and investment decisions
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem solving, including developing practical solutions in uncertain environments
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, including working with senior executives, Boards, and investors
  • Advanced business and commercial acumen and leadership skills
  • Demonstrable experience in driving business performance and solving complex issues
  • Relevant qualification in commerce, finance, economics, accounting or similar - ideally coupled to post-graduate qualifications such as CFA / CA
  • A background in corporate finance, corporate development, management consulting, investment banking, or similar fields
  • Experience working with funds in unlisted infrastructure or private equity would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of the Australian Energy Sector
